Dangerzone Posted May 8, 2023 Posted May 8, 2023 Just wondering if there is currently a known issue / outstanding issue with AH-64 and repairs - in particular with the APU? I came across an issue after a repair in MP where I couldn't get the APU to start up again after the repair. (Tried repairing multiple times). It was about 3hrs in on a multi-player server, so I don't think there's any point providing a track file, however if there is not a known issue - I can see what I can try and do about replicating it again in SP with a small track but thought I'd ask first before spending time trying to replicate the same scenario.

I have same issue. After successfully returning to base (without a tail on the aircraft) and landing at FARP, I initiate a ground crew repair. NOTE1: Engine can be powered down but IDLE power setting needs to be OFF before ground crew will begun. The repair is successful, the aircraft is rearmed and refueled but the APU will not activate necessitating selecting an new role. NOTE2: I don’t think you lose a life if you make it back. (I.e. no need to rescue a pilot at a FARP) 1) Can that bug be fixed? 2) If the loss of tail means the aircraft is “unrepairable/non-salvageable” then can that be made known? P.s. I plan to test ‘APU-after-repair’ issue with only minor damage but haven’t encountered that scenario.

When I have seen the "invisible tail" bug happen, the enemy stops engaging you, and you are no longer visible on the F10 map. I think the fact that you can still fly and make it back to the FARP is a bug, and really the aircraft should be considered destroyed at that point.
Dangerzone Posted May 31, 2023 Author Posted May 31, 2023 (edited) The missing tail on the aircraft seems to have been introduced with a patch since my original posting (at least from my experience). I have experienced the 'invisible tail' bug as well more recently in Open Beta but the original incident that I had a month ago the tail was definitely attached so I believe we're talking 2 different issues. Mine is with repairs, that worked completely except for the APU / engine desync. I haven't done any repairs since this last one so I don't know if the APU issue still exists as a bug or not. No one from ED has confirmed it as a known bug so I guess we'll just see what happens in the future. Edited May 31, 2023 by Dangerzone
