Creating Map Objects in Mission Editor

The Apache's TSD obviously has a lot of great features to help you with knowing where you are on the battlefield, and where other stuff is, but I was curious if there is a way to add these things in the Mission Editor, instead of manually inputting everything in via the TSD in the helicopter itself.

It would be nice to be able to add the threats, but scrolling through Chuck's Guide, I wasn't seeing anything about doing it in the Mission Editor, and thought maybe I just missed some general ME knowledge about how to set those things up.

Thanks!

When you drop a unit in the ME you can check/uncheck the option to "Hide on MFD" for the group.

If it is unchecked, the group will show up in the pre-planned "threats" category in the TSD.  It's been a while since I have played with it, so I can't recall if only some unit types show up, but I know it works for SAM units.

You can search for "threats" and find the pertinent threads.

In the future, when/if ED implements the Data Cartridge feature you might be able to plan out a mission and then preload points into the TSD at mission start. 🙏

Edit: Found these threads:

https://forum.dcs.world/topic/301194-option-for-automatically-importing-mission-editor-targetthreat-control-measure-points/

That second thread is older, and I think some of the issues have been improved upon, but still not perfect

This thing is affected by "fog of war" settings as well?

Thanks

Having Fog of War enabled will only mean they don't show up on the F10 map until they are "spotted" by AI or friendly players.  Their threat symbols will still show up on the TSD at mission start based on the "Hidden on MFD" setting regardless of FoW setting.

Thanks, @Floyd1212! I'll definitely keep an eye out for the changes from ED. There's a lot of really cool features to add in the TSD, but manually entering those all in the ME sounds like a nightmare.

I'm looking forward to the news of the DTC coming to some modules.
