shabo Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Ok so I am fairly new to DCS and I have a question for the experts..... I just installed the sim on a Vista Ultimate 64 O.S. and I went into the options to assign my Thrustmaster Cougar and CH Pro Pedals keys and I notced that I was able to assign the pedals to "Joy_RZ" which was great, thats what I needed for it to be. SO I fire up instant action to see if the controls are correct and i entered my activation and now the pedals dont work. When I go into the options i can no longer assign the pedals to "Joy_RZ" when I go to assign the pedals it only recognizes it as "Joy_Z" but when I go to assign my throttle it shows up as "Joy_Z" also. I cant assign the pedals back to Joy_RZ anymore. All the help would be great. Thanks in advance!!! Dusty Rhodes Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 I wish I could help you Shabo. I have your same setup but am running XP Pro SP2 or 3, whatever they are at now. My set up works great. Dusty Rhodes Play HARD, Play FAIR, Play TO WIN Win 7 Professional 64 Bit / Intel i7 4790 Devils Canyon, 4.0 GIG /ASUS Maximus VII Formula Motherboard/ ASUS GTX 1080 8 GB/ 32 Gigs of RAM / Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog / TrackIR 5 / 2 Cougar MFD's / Saitek Combat Pedals/ DSD Button Box FLT-1
shabo Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 its weird I have it installed on XP pro as well and it works fine I can assign everything correctly with no problem. The weird thing is, is after i installed BS on the vista drive and went through the setup in BS i had the rudder assign via the "auto-detect" within BS, but once I go into instant action and had to punch in my activation code it went back to being fubar'd, it no longer sees it as JOY_RZ in the menu it sees the rudder as JOY_Z now which is what it sees my Cougar throttle as. EtherealN Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Could you double-check the Axis Commands section? It should be in red text in the drop-down menu when setting controls. (Sorry if that's an obvious no-help, just that many people have accidently used a different place that looks deceptively correct but isn't.) If that is not the case, em... Hm. I'll do a doublecheck on my rig - I run Vista64 Home Prem though my stick/pedal combo is Saitek. shabo Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 Got it fixed, often times the simplest thing is the fix, I had to go into the Cougar Control Panel and assign the throttle to a different number, then go back into BS and re-detect the new assignment.....thanks all that tried to help [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] www.wargamelabs.com you might need a life if you computer specs are in your sig ;)
