pbsmgm Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) Does anybody know where I can configure the window size manually for the game itself. I have a 1920x1200 27" LCD and even though 1680 x1050 allows me to multitask, I would like for the window to be larger than that on my screen. If I go with 1920 x 1200 then in essence it is full screen and I cannot mutitask. So like other games and programs, within a config.ini type file..in Microsoft FSX it is in the FSX.cfg file, there is an area to manually enter your window size to fit it with your own custom size. So this would also allow me to increase my resolution on the window up to what I can produce at 1920x1200 yet I can make the window smaller than my entire screen so I can do other things. So the question is, is there a config file where I can customize the size of the overall game window? EtherealN Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) Here we go: C:\Games\BlackShark\BlackShark\data\scripts In there you have options.lua Open that with a good text editor (I guess Notepad works but do save a backup first.) At the bottom you'll find: ["graphics"] = { ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "1camera", ["color"] = "32", ["heatBlr"] = 1, ["scenes"] = "high", ["water"] = 3, ["fullScreen"] = true, ["visibRange"] = "High", ["aspect"] = 1.6, ["textures"] = 2, ["shadows"] = 3, ["display_mode"] = { ["avi"] = { ["bpp"] = 32, ["resolution"] = "640x480", ["full_screen"] = false, ["aspect"] = 1.333333333, ["height"] = 480, ["width"] = 640, }, -- end of ["avi"] }, -- end of ["display_mode"] ["effects"] = 3, ["lights"] = 2, ["haze"] = 1, ["terrPrld"] = "20", ["height"] = 1050, ["resolution"] = "1680x1050", ["civTraffic"] = 1, ["width"] = 1680, }, -- end of ["graphics"] Note that you should set both height, width, resolution AND aspect. At least I think you have to do all that. Also, I believe it's not in the "display_mode" section you'll do it, but rather the rest. pbsmgm Posted February 15, 2009 Author Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) It's working great...I am using Notepad++ and am at an optimal size of about 1850 x 1100 with the actual resolution being 1920x1200. However, I hate to ask another one.....but which line item in this file is for the position of the window. The sizing of it has a tendency to go one way. Or does a position like center position exist in that file? I have looked through the whole file and cannot find it. EtherealN Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Oooh... Yikes... That's a good question. I don't think it has such an option since strictly speaking I don't think anyone anticipated it being used that way. >.< I would have to defer to people more well versed in the lua's and cfg's for that one, I'm afraid. :| [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
EtherealN Posted February 15, 2009 Posted February 15, 2009 Though wait, thought just struck me - since it's technically a window... Tried doing an alt-space and select "move"? If you're lucky windows itself should let you sort that out.
