But in VR, the reflections on that pad are atrocious: they seemingly use a small skybox to generate the reflection, and since the eyes have different locations, that small offset creates a strong, artificial, 3-dimensional glare effect on its flat surface, which gives me a head-ache, and makes it very hard to read the pad (it's too bright) 1

Spoke to several pilots who use these types of pads and they all confirmed the glare can be atrocious.

The glare is atrocious, and yes, that can be (occasionally, but usually not as strong as here. Even if, annoying the player just because reality is annoying sooms to me the wrong kind of realism to focus on). It's the 3D effect created by the skyboxes that causes me head-ache in VR that is really bothering me.
