I am just exploring hardware options and am brand new to DCS.  I don't own any hardware, so can't base any decisions on first hand experience.

For widescreen monitors, it looks like the Samsung G9 is a nice one, but some have commented that the extreme aspect ratio is a detriment for seeing outside and instruments.   If a simpit is set up with something like a Winwing MIPS, start up and take off panels, is there sufficient "real world" data available to eliminate the need to see the panel on the monitor?  Could the G9 be set to essentially give you an "above the panel/rails" view of the outside?

Please forgive my ignorance and improper use of terminology.   Thanks for your help.
