Rockets: gunsight max distance (as per instructor) or minimum distance (as per briefing?)

Hi all,

In the rockets after pop-up attack, the briefing notes say set minimum distance on the gunsight, but instructorman in back says 'maximum range is very important'. What should I be setting my gunsight to?
