What does the NVE button on the eurofighter do?

Apparently "Night Vision Enhancement". Seems to be related to FLIR. maybe like the NAVFLIR in the F-15E, no idea.

Update: I found documentation showing that the electronics were not removed from the hmss, and therefore the system should be included in dcs.
