MAXsenna Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 does the p-51 have an auto pilot?Nope Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk 1
Probable Posted December 16, 2023 Posted December 16, 2023 (edited) There is a P-51 autopilot mod by pxllux . It's easy to install and it works great. The autopilot requires a 3 button sequence of the radio freq buttons for its commands I programmed it into a single CH throttle button with 8 button pushes for each mode: Level flight engage (3 pushes) - Off (radio button) (1 push) - Disengage (3 pushes) - Off (radio button) (1 push). Then 8 more button pushes for Altitude & bank hold. If I want to use level flight back to back, I just quickly cycle thru the 8 Hold button pushes and its ready for level flight to engage. I found the Off radio button is needed so the wrong freq button is not set for the next engage or disengage. To use the radio, a freq button can be pressed as usual without affecting the autopilot since the autopilot requires a 3 button sequence. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is-pxllux/apply/ Edited December 17, 2023 by Probable 2
Serdalf Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 (edited) Does this mod work with DCS 2.9? With the previous version it worked perfectly and I reinstalled DCS 2.9 and I can't get it to work, any ideas? Edited January 18, 2024 by Serdalf
Bowie Posted July 17, 2024 Posted July 17, 2024 The P-51D-25 has a very high fidelity flight model. Just trim it for level, "hands-off" flight. Bowie
