mstoroe Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I have tried this a few times now, and am now down to only 2 activations left. But when I try to get flaiming cliffs to work my grafficks mess up. IE my cockpit disapears, and the landscape has no texture, also some of my sound goes away. When I try a fresh install, it works fine, but when i ad flaming cliffs, the problems start. Any help?
gantmac Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Hi there. im having exactly the same problems. tried looking through posts, cant find any similar problems, However by saving the registry key you do not have to keep activating it every time you reinstall. Lock On v.1.1: Flaming Cliffs Activation Store Utility will do this for you. save the file to your desktop. then re install LO:MOC and LO:FC and double click on the file and windows will install the file. let me know if you ever solved the problem, because im stumped (i would say that I'm pretty knowledgeable with computers)
mstoroe Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 flaming cliffs worked like the first day, Im not sure what happened. I got an error message in my download folder, maybe i got a bad download? Like I said, the original version of lock on works fine. Also, i have black shark, which works fine, and am not sure if that has any play in my problems.
gantmac Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 HA HA SOLVED IT!!! windows vista aero function needs to be disabled!(if you are running on vista) To do this right click on the lock-on flaming cliffs game icon (or lockon.exe) and select properties -> compatibility tab -> compatibility mode - select run this program for windows XP sp2 -> in settings tick the 'Disable Desktop composition' click on ok. Now when starting LO:FC an info bar should pop in the corner of the screen saying that display mode has change to windows vista basic. Let me know if it works for you!
mstoroe Posted March 18, 2009 Author Posted March 18, 2009 it was already set to run in win xp sp 2 mode, but i had to select the disable desktop composition check box. i still dont get the windows basic message, and the problem hasnt been fixed.
gantmac Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 in the same options box have you clicked on 'run as administrator'?
