Spale01 Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Hello guys, I am in the market for hotas and my choice fell on WinWing Orion 2. I need help with decision on which grips should i go for. Looking forward to learn f16c and su27. As i look at things F15EX grips are more versatile than F18 grips but i saw that finger lift detents on F15EX are not registered as buttons in the game so they make problems when you are trying to set cut off and idle controls in game. Never saw someone complaining about that with F18 grips. F16c specific grips are not the options because Su 27 has 2 engines like most of other modules ( waiting for eurofighter typhoon ) Am i missing something here or is that a real problem with F15EX grips. I know that there are some workarounds but as my only hotas i would like to have something that can be easy adaptable for all modules. The problem with finger lift control was shown in F15C by Razbam module so it may be specific to it. Its my first time using forum and english is not my first language so i hope that you can understand what i am talking about :)
some1 Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 (edited) They are the same bases and use the same detent mechanism. Both send buttons when moving from idle to cutoff position, it's easy to assign them to shut down or start the engine. The only reason you see people complaining now, is because F-15E has a unique startup procedure that requires the pilot to pull finger lifts without moving the throttle, and winwing won't register that, as the fingerlifts are purely mechanical locks. But AFAIK it's the same with other throttle on the market.
