bankerzilla Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) Ok I have dug through the forums and I have not seen my problem so I will ask. I have found where I set up my axis for the X45 Throttle to link to collective. I erased the defaults and when I click on Axis Tune and get in the axis tune screen I move my throttle forward and back but the game does not "see" it! I have gone into windows and configured and tested and there it does show movement. When I go to the Add Assignments Panel and move my throttle stick fore and aft it does not recognize any movements at all! I can alt tab out to look at the calibration tab in windows and it is picking up movement there just fine. If I manually choose slider1 it works but bugged~ the only way I can get it to work is to link it to Slider1 but then I only get limited range of movement. the dots do not travel fully across the fields. Any help would be appreciated!!! Oh also it recognizes all other inputs from the X45 Throttle ie. rudder and sliders just not the forward and back movements of the actual throttle. from another post- I am having similar problems with my Saitek X45- upon investigation, i notice that in the Axis Tune tab I am NOT getting full movement on the range of motion of the Throttle. This is in line with me barely getting any power for take off when I pull up on the collective. I also do not have anything mapped to "throttle" it is all mapped in collective. I also changed joystick to my Saitek Cyborg gold and that one did register movements with its' slider but I would really like to use the throttle stick in game. Edited March 16, 2009 by bankerzilla
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted March 16, 2009 ED Team Posted March 16, 2009 Are you sure, that your problem is "not usual"? Did you read FAQ? Did you choose category "Axis Controls" in drop-down box before throttle assignment and tunung? Men may keep a sort of level of good, but no man has ever been able to keep on one level of evil. That road goes down and down. Можно держаться на одном уровне добра, но никому и никогда не удавалось удержаться на одном уровне зла. Эта дорога ведёт вниз и вниз. G.K. bankerzilla Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 Are you sure, that your problem is "not usual"? Did you read FAQ? Did you choose category "Axis Controls" in drop-down box before throttle assignment and tunung? Yes I am certain- If I could do a screenshot I would post. While in the Ka-50 Real screen I click on "Axis Commands" which is what shows up and I find the column with Saitek X45, then I double click on "Flight Control Collective" then the "Add Assignment Panel" comes up. At this point i can move my throttle back and forth all I want but the game will not register any movement, BUT if I turn the rotation knobs on it - then it registers them as Joy_Slider2. Unfortunately I don't want to set a knob as my collective. For good measure I am going to go out and try to do the same but in the Ka-50 Game screen. Nope that acts the same as above.
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted March 16, 2009 ED Team Posted March 16, 2009 OK. Try to check and re-calibrate joystick (pay attention especially to throttle (i.e. "slider" axis) in Windows Control Panel (as usual). Seems to this axis haven't full range - and therefore input subsystem of BS can't react. BTW, can you assign another axis (for example, rotary on throttle)? bankerzilla Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) yes it lets me assign rotary- I am looking at range of motion in windows now and in the down position it shows all white and a bar that says throttle and in the full forward position I see the red bar move up to the top making it all red. I have recalibrated the joystick and tried again and still nothing. What is also odd is if I accept the defaults it chooses JOY_SLIDER1 which does capture some motion but if you look at the Axis Tune Panel the little black dot only comes down about 1/3 of the way down the red line instead of all the way to the bottom left hand corner. I have tested the Throttle with IL2 and WWIIOnline and it is working fine. I have the latest X45 Saitek Drivers and am using Vista 32bit SP1. Hope this helps! Edited March 16, 2009 by bankerzilla
ZaltysZ Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) You don't have to rely on auto detection, because you can assign axis manually. Open axis assignment window and with mouse choose "JOY Z" as axis. "JOY Z" should correspond to X45 throttle. See the screenshot I have attached (it is in Russian, but I think you will understand as only text differs from English window of axis assignment). Yes, once I realized that auto detect was not working I decided to choose from the drop down. unfortunately as I said above the only drop down that will work is Joy_Slider1 not Z axis as so many others have said should be for the X45 throttle. Even then the collective is barely moving as I explained above.
ZaltysZ Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) Do you have any profile loaded into Saitek SST (Saitek programming software)? It may conflict. Also, I have said "JOY_Z should correspond to throttle", but it may not. I have X52, so axis labels may be different after all. Have you tried all axis (yes, I know there is a lot of them)? bankerzilla Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 no. I have not even programed the SST. I downloaded it fresh also. I have tried running the SST and leaving it off- I even uninstalled the SST and tried.
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted March 16, 2009 ED Team Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) It may conflict. Theoretically - yes, some conflicts are possible. But I've checked now my system: Saitek X-52, axis Slider divided by 3 bands in Saitek profiler and mapped as "R" and "D" buttons. Nevertheless, I can assign this Slider as axis in game. bankerzilla, please attach a few screenshots (assignment process step by step). Added. Do you have "clean" English installation, without mods, saved-restored files etc? Yes I have a brand new version with nothing in it. maybe I can do a Fraps movie to show you what is happening? I just don't know where I can upload a fraps file.
bankerzilla Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 I sent you a private message- let me know if you received it without problems. For others keeping up with this thread I made a video of the issue: you can get it here: http://files.me.com/tophat/5vc9mf All help would be appreciated!
ZaltysZ Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 What is "Virtual HID device" in your setup? Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
bankerzilla Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 (edited) I thought it was my KB and mouse are USB Laser Lychosa brands high end gamer mouse and KB. I am disabling it now. Will report. Edited March 17, 2009 by bankerzilla
bankerzilla Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 Damn I was hoping that was it! I deleted anything that was in their that was not attached to my PC. So I left the KB, Mouse and the Saitek X45 and I went back in and I got the same results~
ZaltysZ Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 Unplug X45, launch the game, go to control setup window. If "Virtual HID device" is absent now (because X45 isn't plugged), then you have driver problem with X45. Wir sehen uns in Walhalla.
ED Team USSR_Rik Posted March 17, 2009 ED Team Posted March 17, 2009 According to uploaded video, I can say only: slider and Z axis are not tuned in Windows Device Control Panel. But I believe that you have checked them. Please, read this post and make as described http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=604271&postcount=15 Men may keep a sort of level of good, but no man has ever been able to keep on one level of evil. bankerzilla Posted March 17, 2009 Author Posted March 17, 2009 Ok- I got tired of messing with it so I went out and did my share for the Global Economy and bought an X52!!! Hopefully it won't be nearly the hassle!!!! Will let you know soon.
hyperfighter Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 (edited) What is "Virtual HID device" in your setup? that are virtual device controller drivers, some of them are used by sst programming software. dont delete those. read my post on this thread : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=39441 Edited March 18, 2009 by hyperfighter
