okopanja Posted October 26, 2023 Posted October 26, 2023 (edited) In this video I approach the F-16C from the backs. He flies straight. After first shoots fired from too far (which miss and he does not notice) I approach further and start shooting. The battle damage report indicated the hits, yet the airplane accelerated with no hindrance. I am not the best possible shooter around here, but he was flying straight, so even an anti-talent like me should have damaged him. Can you please check number of hits and locations? Why did not any of the fuel tanks ignite? (he was most likely pretty close to full). If he was hit in the engine, why did not he slow down instead of accelerating? okopanja Posted October 26, 2023 Author Posted October 26, 2023 (edited) Added video was generated from trk file. Around 01:04 starts really funny part. I would say he receives multiple 30mm rounds in the left wing and engine. Yet all of a sudden he accelerates and maneuvered as if no hit has occurred. okopanja Posted October 30, 2023 Author Posted October 30, 2023 1. video was created with commands overridden and zoomed in to take a close look what goes on. I have zoom setup so I see all instruments normally, and I activly avoid using the zoom outside of cockpit. 2. I tried to replicate against AI in local network and on server. F-16 AI blows up after 2-3 30mm shells. 3. I will try with friend to replicate against human in network. Likely this is not the damage model, presently main suspicion is the network desync (120ms ping to that server). Still even then he should have suffered significant damage. My theory is that after initial animation of damage and BDA report the game decided he was not hit (I guess the client reconciles at some point with server/other client), hence he continued accelerating. I had more extreme examples in the past where the aircraft was burning and going down to the ground, only that few seconds later it would jump up into vertical with no smoke. I am pretty sure others experience this as well, and this might not be related even to the aircraft (except that perhaps flanker is more affected due to the lower density of shells). I will report back the findings. Also I am thinking how to induce the 120ms ping for me, while my friend should ideally have low ping. Please correct the label: this was against the human. okopanja Posted November 1, 2023 Author Posted November 1, 2023 Attempted with induced delay up to 1 second and AI, unable to reproduce. I will need to try this against human, likely the opportunity will be in 10 days. Condition: amber
okopanja Posted November 16, 2023 Author Posted November 16, 2023 Note: this is not about AI, this is about multiplayer. As far as I know, this affects all aircrafts. Not just Viper/Flanker. Condition: amber
