Hello to all, i'am new to this forum and big BS fan. Sinds a few weeks i have BS installed up and running without any problems, until today. If i start a mission or campain by pressing the FLY button the screen shows the desktop shortly (wich i know is normal) after that it go's back to loading screen wich it does not! In my case i get the following message :

Any idea? I didn't chance anything on the system!

BTW some time it starts and most of the time its the training mission that wil execute without problems

We didn't make wide testing under Windows 7. Try to remember - what did you changed in your PC last time.

Thats the answer i was waiting for, read the post, its running for several weeks without problems and this message appeared out of nowhere, no system chance, no updates (update's are turned of) Black shark performs very well btw under W7 untill today. Maybe someone can lead me to were i must search from the error code piont of view? Any help is welkom!

Well Infiniti3d, computers don't change behaviour at random, they just slavishly do what they're told even if it's wrong. So if it worked at one time and then stops, then something has changed, whether it was a couscious change or not.

Also, what you are using is a beta product and I would assume that the place to look for decoding the error would be at the developer, Microsoft. The error code there isn't an error code delivered by DCS, it's an error code deliverd by the operating system as it attempts to start the program. No need to get rude to Rik because he informs you that they didn't perform much testing on a beta operating system.

Lastly, all we know of your system at this time is that it runs Windows7 and has Skype, Firefox and DCS installed. To have any chance of figuring out what's going on we need to know more.

I googled* the error, and it would appear that most often it is linked to problems with dll initialisation. This means it could be a driver issue linked to any of the hardware that launcher.exe needs (that is, everything), it could also be a core windows file that has become corrupt.

In either of the two cases, your first recourse should be a system restore. I don't care whether you haven't changed anything yourself, it's a beta product and if a fluke in the programming tells it to change something then it will.

If you are unable to do a system restore, I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. If that doesn't work, we start getting closer to either reinstalling the entire system or checking if someone around here (like Rik) who is better than me at this has an idea. :P

OK, let's say othervise - what did you changed in BS? Graphics, new pilot, input etc. Are you belive mysticism? I'm not.

Thanks for all the reply's, i didn't found the problem yet. After a fresch install of windows 7 and a fresch instal of vista SP1 on a different machine i noticed it happens on both OS just random with 178.. driver and 180.. drivers.(i tested this day) have one SLI rig and one rig with a single GTX260 both dual Core CPU.

Both rigs are highly stable and run every game (DX 9 and 10) flawless.

On the fresch vista install the error came right after setting the native resolution for the monitor wich is 1680X1050, when i hit the okay button it showed the desktop with the error mentioned. On the W7 install it went better, but after i crashed in the Campain ( i selected Dusk ) i wanted to fly again by hitting the fly again button, after doing that i was promted again by the mentioned error message! I' am running W7 for a long time now and BS is installed more then 3 to 4 weeks without any problems, i didn't chance anything. So sometimes it happens and completely random! The game is playble but its irritating when you fly a mission and want to refly right away after a crash or being shot down. The only thing i can think off is the SSD's i use becouse thats the only thing thats nconfentional, on the other hand if two OS can run on those and several games like LOMAC without any problems i have my doubts . I also think its kinda strange the error is comming very early right after hitting the fly botton to start a mission or hit the OK butten to confirm the resolution settings. I mean when it executes without error it runs flawless(no graphical arifacts whatsoever). I am out of idea's and tryed alot other stuf like audio settings and drivers, run as admin and compatibilty mode etc.....

I wonder if starforce checks after executing the game or a mission i mean the error occurs at the same time you have to enter the serial on a new install:suspect:

EDIT: Found it! For some reason the PhysX software was disabled, enableing did the trick. Happy again. thanks for the support!
