Autopilot and Steering points

hey all, i have a question regarding the f15e strike eagle.   it involves Auto pilot and Waypoints ( or steer points)
my question is, after setting a steer point with my scratch pad how can i change my current NAV waypoint to said created WP.
for instance, autopilot engaged, heading to Waypoint 1a, i want it to goto wp 69.  (which i created)  so that the autopilot redirects to that wp instead of WP 1a.

i have seen some say entering the desired point into the pad and pushing pb10 would direct it but that hasn't worked for me.
what if anything am i doing wrong, or is there no way to skip waypoints and direct the aircraft to a point desired ?

Make sure steer mode nav is selected while autopilot is on. Also turn off auto sequence on HSI if you're wanting to skip all the points in between.

I feel dumb now , I didn't know all you had to do was goto the main scratch pad menu type the wp # and hit pb10
