Hi, I'd like to know if it's a bug or a misunderstanding, when you are in the case below (see picture), the plane launch 2 bombs on the same pylon where you have 4 bombs and the central bomb, instead of 1 bomb on each pylon ?

"Ripple Multiple: works similarly to Ripple Single, but one bomb will drop from each
selected station simultaneously"

I am totally guessing here, so take it as that ...

What you want to do (dropping 5 GBU-12s at once) no one in RL would ever do, thus I´d imagine that noone would ever test this and as such noone could have found this issue - if it is one.

It's an unusual  way to do bombing, but in the game you can use it to drop 5 bombs with 5 JTACs illuminating 5 targets in one pass, it's not unimaginable at all to use it this way in RL ...

Also, the sequencing behaviour AFAIK doesn't care about the bomb types particularly. So 5 GBU's in one pass might well be unrealistic, but it becomes more realistic if you swap that loadout of GBU-12s for dumb bombs or JDAMs.

And yeah, i've found the station order the bombs come off to be curious too (always assumed it'd be in a fashion that wouldn't unduly unbalance the jet, or at least with some symmetry to it) but have no real world knowledge to say if its how it happens for real or not.

The bomb release order is set in the jets PACS and unchangeable.

It always releases in the order aft inboard, forward inboard, aft outboard, forward outboard, middle outboard, middle inboard. This maintains the best CG balance and avoids an aft CG condition which is far less desirable than a forward CG condition. If a station is not loaded then it is skipped in the sequence.

If you have both CFTs selected and a Ripple Single program then it always starts with the Left CFT first.

The situation presented at the top is a bug, Ripple multiple should take the quantity of weapons to be released and divide it by number of stations selected, and thats how many release pulses are sent, rounded up. So in the example given above 5 bombs should have released at once; one from each of the selected stations. If the quantity had been 10, it would have only ended up releasing 7 bombs (because there is only one bomb on three of the selected stations)

If however you had the CFTs only selected and had set a qty of 3, then 4 bombs would be released, since its 3 bombs divided by 2 stations would be 2 pulses sent to the two selected stations, so 4 bombs would be released.

Thanks for the clarification on why the order is the way it is.

Exactly and so far the plane release 2 bombs on the left center, 2 bombs on the right center and one bomb from the center pylon... And none from the selected outboard right or left pylon..
