X52 Pro Throttle problems

Throttle works in software calibration (like a slider), but in DCS it jumps from 0% throttle to 100% throttle, nothing in-between.  I've searched relentlessly, am I stuck using the throttle slider as a throttle and not the actual throttle.  I hope I'm missing something simple.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
