drz400dude Posted January 28, 2024 Posted January 28, 2024 I have a question about using the AGM 154A with the F15E. I've been trying to use them by inputting coordinates on the ground using the UFC as follows: -Aircraft on ground and running with AGM 154s loaded. -Pull up the smart weapons page and select station with 154A. -Using the Tpod designate a random target and select transfer Tpod. -Select edit mission and use the F10 map to get exact coordinates and altitude of target in the format with 3 decimal places for seconds, ie N55.54.123 E012.34.567. -Select xfer weapon>xfer msn When I do it this way they always get close, within about 100 meters, but never score a kill. I'm trying to use this on long range SAMs because by the time I can usually find them with A2G radar or Tpod I'm too close for AGM 154. Any help would be appreciated.
zlm63682 Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 I also have accuracy issue with TPOD designation so I decide not to use TPOD for designation. but I usually use UFC to input coords as TGT point and XFR to SMRT WPNS, no accuracy issue in this way, but sometimes 2 bombs still fly overhead.

I don't really use the Tpod for designation. I use it to populate the data on the smart weapon page. Just makes it easier for me to edit the data if I can already see what belongs there instead of just a blank box. Then I use the UFC scratch pad to input the target data. Maybe I'll try the method of creating a target point then transferring to the GBU 154.
