Hi Tomcat Pilots/RIOs,

found very interesting NATOPS F-14A Flight Manual related to weapon systems & navigation:

https://mega.nz/folder/WR9hwQoK#NXGsaNB-30aOO8Ki_KS0tA/file/fR1zALhI

from page 20-20:

Цитата

Normally, own−aircraft airspeed and magnetic heading
are displayed on the TID. If own−aircraft data file is hooked
using the TID cursor, heading will be magnetic
. If OWN A/C
pushbutton was selected (hooked) via the CAP, own−aircraft
true heading, speed (groundspeed), altitude, or course can be
displayed on the TID by depressing the appropriate prefix
pushbutton.

also from page 25-1:

Цитата

Own aircraft and all NAV GRID symbology is
displayed in reference to YY. When TID offset is selected,
portions of the grid display may be positioned off the TID.

Offset positioning can be canceled by momentarily cycling
the TID MODE switch out of GND STAB.
When NAV GRID display is selected or deselected, any TID
offset or TID expansion is retained. With a hook (including
own aircraft), displayed range and bearing is from YY to
hooked symbol. With no hook, displayed
range and bearing is from own aircraft to YY.

there are issues in current DCS F-14 implementation:

1. it's not possible to hook own aircraft using TID cursor in any mode.

2. in NAV GRID mode if own aircraft is selected using CAP NAV panel, TID shows bearing from own aircraft to YY (which I don't know if it's correct or not - cause in the manual "hook" word could mean: either hooked by TID cursor or hooked by selecting "own a/c" on CAP NAV panel or even both)
