Mapping joystick buttons for weapon controls

I am only on mission 1, loving it, but I would like to map the needed weapons controls now. What controls are important, and what controls are important to have quick access to as a one click button (not buried in a shift click of an awkward button)? 

I currently use:
   5 buttons for mouse click stuff (I fly VR)
   Zoom & Binocular Zoom
   3 buttons for the kneeboard On/Off, Next, Prev.
   Pause

   Autopilot On/Off 

   Map view
   Cockpit view
   Aircraft view

I do have lots of buttons available. I have a CH Throttle mounted as a collective head (4 4-ways X 2 with shift modifier) and a cyclic with a MS Sidewinder head (1 4-way, a trigger and 3 other buttons). 

Chuck's guide suggests these as essential but I am not sure they are all used in Paradise Lost:
   Searchlight? 
   Flexible sight?
   Flare dispense?
   Armament selector?
   Night vision goggles?
   Pilot weapon release / gun fire?
   Hook         
   Pilot Unhook
