Props Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Hello folks, I don't post much here, but I am looking for a participant for a panel discussion at FSA Expo in Vegas this year. This panel will be a Q&A discussion on getting started and progressing in Combat Flight Simulators something the Expo has not really done before and I would really like to get one more panel member to round out the discussion, preferably from the DCS modern jet fighter community and a regular MP online pilot with a lot of flight time. My name is Joe "Props" Gallwitz and I will be moderating and I am preferentially a WW2 props guy on various sims. Anybody here going and would like to help a bunch civilian simmers make the transition? Combat Flight simming has been a bit under represented at the Expo in the past and the organizers have been really supportive and eager to get this panel setup so if your interested PM or post a reply. 1
Props Posted June 15, 2024 Author Posted June 15, 2024 (edited) Well I did not really expect any interest from the DCS community about the forthcoming FSA Expo, but it's only a week away and I wanted to mention that I did get the panel filled out and it will be the First real Combat Flight Sim panel or discussion ever presented at this event. The FSA staff have been extremely supportive realizing that CFS is under represented at the Expo and want to encourage more folks to get involved. The discussion is titled So You Want to be a Virtual Combat Pilot and will be on the FSElite Stage Saturday at 12:15 pm. I have some stellar guests lined up from the combat sim world and I would post their names but DCS forums are oddly non-permissive about mentioning anything about competing sims so I probably shouldn't as it will get censored. Anyway if you are attending the Expo, sit in for the panel and say hi afterwards as we would love to meet anyone from the CFS community. Edited June 15, 2024 by Props 1
Stewmanji Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 (edited) Very late in seeing this but thank you for doing this kind of outreach @Props. I'm hopeful that the presence of the combat flight sim side of the house will continue to grow in future years (especially from the DCS side of the house). I've done my best to promote the show on my podcast ("The Hangar Bay") over the past few months and I'll continue to do so next year as well. Given the relatively niche nature of our community I think it's incredibly important to have events like these where we can come together and celebrate all that it has to offer. Can't wait to see what this years expo has in store (especially this year's panel). I'll be watching online (hope to attend next year)! Have a great time at this year's show!
