Chazz_BMF Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 (edited) Am i the only one who think the smoke from firing rockets should be darker...Ive seen a couple of videos of the shark firing rockets and the smoke is really dark...and there is a lot more smoke development than in the sim..I have tried the smoke mod from lockon but it doesnt work very well with DCS.....does anybody have the skill to make something similar :helpsmilie: Should be like this (0:58 ) Or this (3:39) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5zbKZ5h_W8&feature=related Edited April 18, 2009 by Chazz_BMF :pilotfly:Wolfpack Production:pilotfly: -=<[WiN 10, I7 3770K @ 4,5 Ghz, Corsair H100i, Sabertooth Z77, 16 GB Dominator, Sapphire 7970 VaporX 6GB, C70 Vengance, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Pro rudder, Track IR, Beyerdynamics MMX 300 ]>=- DCS/FC2/FC3/Arma videos on my channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/WolfpackproductionDK "Fortes Furtuna Juvat"
Yoti980 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 If you look at the first part of the first vid when she fires single rockets the smoke is light in color and looks pretty dead on to what we see in DCS... The dark smoke you refer to is only when firing a group of rockets.. I would think it appears darker because the multiple rockets create enough smoke to block light from shining through the smoke.. plus you must look at the enviromental conditions of that paticular flight.. Cloud cover and time of day play a big part on how we preceive things... Thats just my thoughts on it we'll see what ED says CARRIER AIR WING EIGHT [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] BLACKLION 204 F-14D BuNo 163159 Fighter Squadron Two One Three LCDR James "Rat" Trapp http://www.cvw-8.org
DMarkwick Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I'd like to make a small smoke mod for Black Shark (I do the JTD SmokeEffects for Armed Assault :)) but I have no idea about the modding structure of Black Shark. I only received & installed the thing yesterday so you'll forgive me :) The thing I'd like to address most is the vehicle wreck smoke effects, I think they're a little underwhelming :) and I'd like to add some better, bigger smoke effects. Does anyone know of a resource I can read to find out how to start?
