Hi all,

I wish to make a skin for BS and want it to show this words : "Flyings Anvils" in Russian Cyrillic.

A rapid translation by the "voila.fr" website gives me this result : "пролетел наковален" is it correct ? If it is not, please some one who speak and write Russian, can you help me ? :)

Thanks for your attention.

Wow, it was quick :)

Thank you very much

(I just realize I've miswritten "flying" :poster_oops:)

What is the difference between the two possibilities ?

My meaning of "Flying Anvils" is... Anvils that flies in the air, like... Very heavy birds :D

Posted (edited)

Not so much difference here, just shorter word.

Some examples.

«Летающая крепость» (i.e. B-17 bomber) — Flying Fortress, летающая лягушка — flying frog.
and

Летучая рыба — flying fish, летучая лисица — flying fox, «Летучий Голландец» — Flying Dutchman.

But 'летучий' can in additional means 'fast', 'agile', 'quick' without conjunctions with flying.

Ok, so, whatever I choose, it will still means "Flying Anvils" that's just that some words may fits better on a Black Shark tail because they are shorter that the others, am I right ?

She look nice, but... I think Namenlos Ein has already given the answer to my question :D

Once again, thank you very much for your very appreciated help :smilewink:

Yes, you right.

Flying saucer — летающая тарелка (not 'летучая').

Well, «Летающие наковальни» ('anvils which can fly') sounds better for me. Death from above, haha. But if this not fits by the length on the helicopter's tail you can freely replace this words with 'Летучие наковальни' ('Fast moves in the air anvils'). Years ago in USSR was released very popular musical movie 'Эскадрон гуссар летучих' ('Squadron of flying hussars') about 1812 war hero Denis Davydov. As you understand it was not about flying for real hussars.

I keep "Летающие наковальни" as it is closer to the meaning I want for my skin :)

By adjusting the size of the text, I managed to do what I wanted to do and thanks to your help, now it is correctly translated

Google translator gives "пролетел наковален" for "Flying Anvils" has the Voila.fr translator does.

So, what means "пролетел" I think it is not meaning "flying in the air" because translating this word from Russian to French (my native language) gives something more like "something that beats" than "something that fly".

Again, Flying Anvils translates in Russian like Летающие наковальни or Летучие наковальни. Пролетел наковален is completely incorrect and silly.

«Пролететь» (in past — «пролетел») means «survoler» in French.

If you don't believe me just put Летающие наковальни in Google Translate for Russian to English translation and check result.

Летающие наковальни —> Translation: Russian » English —> Flying anvils

Any questions?

(checking in Russian-French dictionary)

Repos!

Par blague, here no symbolic wings or main rotors on this evil anvil. Are you sure it is not the Falling Anvils' emblem?

Actually anvils flies, with very high vertical speed... Just like me when I fly the Black Shark for the moment :D

... because somebody can get name "Flying Hammers" :)

In fact, it's a quite simple skin, I've just applied some decals on the official "standard scheme" template, but it's pleasant to see that you like it.
