TonyRS Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Not a bug, just seeking advice… I have a multiplayer mission that includes an E-3* AWACS. It seems to be operating well, too well in fact. As soon as I start my mission my AWACS is incessantly making BRAA calls giving little opportunity for others to speak on air. Is this correct? Is there a way to control the frequency of these AWACS broadcasts? Or have I just missed something? Cheers Yes, you can move the awacs to a different frequency and only join that freq when you need it. For FC-3 planes, press Rshift+M twice to change "receive mode" to mute the awacs. My skins

Exorcet Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Setting AWACS to its own frequency is a good idea, just make sure it's in the mission briefing so people can see it. A possible alternative is to remove the default AWACS task and instead use an AWACS triggered action that turns off after a set time and link it to F10 radio. Players could call AWACS through F10 which would then push the AWACS task that will only run for as long as the duration is set. Still not perfect and I've not tested it, but if it works as I expect this should at least keep AWACS quiet when no one is asking for updates. One small downside is that AWACS won't call out nearby threats automatically. I'm also not sure how datalink information will be affected. 2 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
