steph1258 Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 Hello everyone, I have just bought the F-15E (literally today) and wanted to jump right into the seat after I received my brand new PC with the following specs: Windows 11 RAM DDR5 64 Go (2 x 32 Go) 6000 MHz MSI Z790 GAMING PLUS WIFI Intel Core i7-14700KF (3.4 GHz) Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER WINDFORCE OC Fact is, I experience a LOT of lags while just sitting on the ramp. I cannot flick a switch without having an enormous reponse time. DCS settings are set on High but that should not be an issue as I can run any other module without any difficulty. I tried a scripted instant action on Nevada Map (the dusk take-off one) and my PC just froze while the engine sound could still be heard in the background. I find very difficult to understand why, with a brand new computer and hardware that is supposed to be way above the minimums required, I still have stutters/lags on DCS. Maybe I am doing something wrong, hence my question to our community. Thank you very much for your support.
BJ55 Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 I have no such issues with a lower spec PC. Things you can check/do is: exclude DCS folder from antivirus active protection, check if you have parked cores while running DCS, in special options set radar threads to 2 (or different values), disable cockpit global illumination... Here my settings (in SA map I disable the terrain shadow objects): I7-12700F, 64GB DDR4 XMP1 3000MHz, Asus Z670M, MSI RTX 3070 2560x1440 60Hz, TIR 5, TM WH VPC base, TM rudder, Win10 Pro
steph1258 Posted May 9, 2024 Author Posted May 9, 2024 Hi BJ55, Thanks a lot for your swift answer! I still have lags with the F-15E although I have set the radar threads to 2 as you said and made a few ajustments to my settings. I have made a test with another "heavy" module (the F-14B) and could run a nice 60fps with no stutter at all on the Marianas map... So my guess is that the Mudhen is the problem, which is sad cause the plane looks really cool! Here is a snap of my settings if you can think of anything that can help... Again, thank you!
Solution Njinsa Posted May 9, 2024 Solution Posted May 9, 2024 (edited) Try turning off SSAO and SSLR and see if that make difference. Edited May 9, 2024 by Njinsa 1
BJ55 Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 Absolutely! Also disable enclairage global du cockpit (at this moment is bugged), SSS, and secondary shadows. It's better to set ombres to medium and ombres objects terrain to flat, or the TPOD will bring your GPU to it's knees. The F-15E is high demanding, so it's better to sacrifice some eye-candy, at least until bugs are fixed and optimizations are made. 1 I7-12700F, 64GB DDR4 XMP1 3000MHz, Asus Z670M, MSI RTX 3070 2560x1440 60Hz, TIR 5, TM WH VPC base, TM rudder, Win10 Pro
steph1258 Posted May 9, 2024 Author Posted May 9, 2024 Thanks a lot gents! I'll try that tomorrow and let you know what comes out of that.
steph1258 Posted May 12, 2024 Author Posted May 12, 2024 Ok chaps I have done as told and there is apparently no more lags with the F-15E. So, as Njinsa & BJ55 stated, turning OFF SSAO, SSLR, SSS and cockpit lighting seem to have done the trick. Now only remains that strange throttle behaviour I posted on another thread... Thanks a lot! 1
