Squiggs Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 I am looking at making a mission where we drop off some dudes on a mountain peak. It will be too difficult to convey to the player which specific spot they need to drop them off on so the player is allowed to land anywhere on/near the peak as they deem fit. I was going to do the dropoff as a late activation and just have the dudes appear next to/behind the helicopter (from there they don't need to do anything, just stand there while the player flies away). The problem I have is I don't know specifically where the player will land. Is there a way to teleport them to a position relative to the player when their late activation triggers? Or is there an easier way to do this?
TEMPEST.114 Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 (edited) DIY Scripting or maybe CTLD will do it but again you'll need some scripting to set it up. Edited May 21, 2024 by TEMPEST.114
DD_Friar Posted May 21, 2024 Posted May 21, 2024 @Squiggs You need to look at DML by @cfrag. This is a tool for easy mission building. It consists of copy and paste for scripts into your mission (no scripting knowledge required) I am using this exact functionality for picking troops up from a FARP/Base. fly off and drop them off. They then seek out and attack the nearest enemy. You can then go back and pick them up and take them somewhere else. All you need to be able to do is add a zone to the map and give it some parameters. I have created scenarios with troops being dropped off 2 to 3 Km away and they head off. Visit the Dangerdogz at www.dangerdogz.com. We are a group based on having fun (no command structure, no expectations of attendance, no formal skills required, that is not to say we can not get serious for special events, of which we have many). We play DCS and IL2 GBS. We have two groups one based in North America / Canada and one UK / Europe. Come check us out.
