Afterburner Detent

Does anyone know if the afterburner is at full power when lit or does there need to be further throttle movement to ensure full power, reason is I would like to sink this with my FA18 software detent but this would require above 80% on the slider and would this restrict the F4?

Aftterburner has a range as well. Full and minimal afterburner provide different thrust.
