brettt777 Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 A couple things actually... - I get airborne and I jump back to the WSO seat and I set the radar up the way I want it; usually something like a 25 mile PPI just for navigating. All is well. It stay that way like it should. I jump back in the pilot seat and the radar display is correct (25 mile PPI) for about 2 seconds, then it switches back to a 50 mile B scope. No matter what I set the radar to in the WSO seat, a second or two after going back to the pilot seat, the radar switches back to a 50 mile B scope. Any idea why it does that? is there some setting somewhere that makes the 50 mile B scope a default setting whenever you're in the pilot seat? The only time I can get it to change and stay that way is by selecting a heat missile and Auto Acq. Then it goes down to a 5 mile display. So, what am I missing here? _ Second thing... there are Jester commands to change the scan angle and elevation of the radar. Even the mode (standby, on, etc.). But there is no Jester command I saw where I can get him to change the range. Really? What is up with that? Anyway, just a couple things. I'm a retired avionics tech from both military and civilian so I love a good radar simulation. 1 AMD Ryzen 9 5900X @ 4.4ghz, 64gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, GeForce RTX-3060ti 8GB DDR6, Three KTC 32" QHD monitors @ 165hz, Rosewill 80plus Bronze 1000w, Corsair Hydro H100i, 2tb M.2 SSD for OS, Two 3tb HDD, 2tb SSD for DCS, P3D, Star Citizen, Sound Blaster Zx, Thermaltake Overseer RX-I, Winwing Orion 2 HOTAS F-15EX throttle and F-16EX stick, Winwing 3 MFD MIP with FA-18 UFC and F-16 ICP, TrackIR 5, Surround Speakers & Subwoofer, Oculus Quest 2 VR. :joystick::pilotfly:
Zabuzard Posted May 27, 2024 Posted May 27, 2024 It is because Jester can not understand that you are just messing with him. His routines will set the radar back to what he thinks is correct for this situation. Either use the available Jester Wheel commands to fine tune some stuff or you have to disable Jester completely if you want manual control over the radar. That said, if you found Jester to be lacking in a specific situation, it would be great if you can explain this particular situation. Then we can improve Jester to support you better in that case 2
