LHP Posted June 5, 2024 Posted June 5, 2024 Hi there, Discovered a bit of a glitch the other day. I haven't seen any other posts about it but it's there Basically if I switch the source select switch to radar (or off) everything is fine however if I switch it to TV the screen goes black and flashes in and out of black screen, flick it back to off and it comes right instantly, I managed to capture it in the video below, it all starts off at 2:23:40 At first I thought it was a night inly issue but have been have since tested and it does exactly the same thing during the day, sp or mp makes no difference and it only happens when that switch is set to tv otherwise it's fine Take a look, 2:23:40 or use the time stamp in the description Cheers guys 1
Zabuzard Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 Looks like you might be running out of VRAM.Which graphic card are you using? :)
LHP Posted June 7, 2024 Author Posted June 7, 2024 (edited) EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra 24gb of vram in it, it only happens with that switch, here is a video of it happening with the framerate and graphics data, video shoes 7gb vram used, mission is the Caucasus daytime free flight instant action Edited June 7, 2024 by LHP
LHP Posted June 11, 2024 Author Posted June 11, 2024 @Zabuzard looks like it also only happens if the hud is on, if I flick the switch with the hud off its fine, if the hud is on it happens
Zabuzard Posted June 11, 2024 Posted June 11, 2024 Yeah cause the sum of texture stuff that is rendered exceeds whatever VRAM is available to DCS at that moment.I can't tell you why, but this is a classic "out of VRAM" symptom.
LHP Posted June 11, 2024 Author Posted June 11, 2024 (edited) @Zabuzard i'm sorry, please forgive my simpleness but I don't understand, how am I running out of vram? It's a 3090, and the display shows 7.5gb of 23gb when it's happening? I'm a bit confused, am I looking at the wrong numbers? Also I don't have this issue with any other module or anywhere else in DCS, I'd I was having a vram issue wouldn't it effect other modules to? what can i do to verify of it is a vram issue?
