virgo47 Posted June 8, 2024 Posted June 8, 2024 (edited) Please, introduce TrackIR Enable/Disable toggle to the global UI Layer - with the same function as the toggle in Controls, click on the triangle in the TrackIR column header, Disabled. Reason: With the TrackIR active there is no quick way to toggle it to get "traditional" non-TrackIR camera rotation without all these clicks in the Options/Controls. With TrackIR program running, this gets detected and enabled (which is good), but if for whatever reason I want to stop tracking, I can only do so in the TrackIR program - but this does not enable the non-trackIR camera rotation until I manually disable TrackIR in DCS. After this, it stays disabled even if I start DCS with TrackIR program active. I have to re-enable it manually. Simple binding for this toggle would be very practical - because enable/disable on DCS side has additional benefits, it doesn't just "freeze" the view, it also enables all the View * (slow) bindings and mouse look as well. Currently, it is possible, but it requires many clicks through Options, has a lasting effect for another start of the game, and is generally impractical/slow. Alphapex1 Posted July 24, 2024 Posted July 24, 2024 Currently, we can only disable tracking manually. I hope DCS will provide a shortcut to disable head tracking. As far as I know, only TrackIR has a shortcut to support this; However, not everyone use TrackIR. I use Aimxyz and have previously used opentrack, neither of which support this feature.

I use opentrack which also has a shortcut disabling the tracking - however, this does not reenable mouse movement nor all those View * (slow) bindings which still stay inert. Not to mention that if I want to have it on the HOTAS the button is taken by opentrack software completely, while in DCS I could utilize its powerful modifiers. Feflefoo Posted February 22 Posted February 22 This would be a big improvement for me as well. On top of what has been mentioned above, it is woth underlying that Opentrack has become mandatory for the Tobii eyetracker. In this case, controlling the point of view with the mouse implies to go and disable the TIR in the control menu, which really is an immersion killer. Please close the sound barrier when you leave.
