TrevorMcNeill Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Hey all! With the 47 release around the corner, I figured I'd post my progress on my near 1:1 47 MPD/MFDs. Most progress in on pause til I'm able to get a large enough resin printer to print whole that way I can dial in fitment as currently I'd have to print in 5 parts which can be less precise. Also need a laser engraver as while the main buttons can be painted easily I cannot get good results for the rocker switch lettering. Hopefully once I'm back next year I can get this complete and up to my standards. My prototype PCB and print worked for the most part(found out none of my ground pads were actually connected to ground....) Anyways, hope you all like it! Can't wait to get this out there! 4
Nikolas_A Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Looking nice! Two suggestions: Dome switches are better than tactile, more realistic activation forces, cheaper, longer lifer The knob is an overkill, print in clear, mask and paint. That's how the real ones are made 1

Yes, they are all the same.(to my knowledge, though to me, it would be logistically odd to not use the same screen on all 5) As for the rotary, I did try to get the results I wanted with painting, however, I couldn't get a result I was happy with. It's also not hard to print or assemble so now that it's done it takes 5 seconds to assemble and it's as close to perfect as you can get. Also, since it's all printed, there's no risk of wear from use so that's kinda nice. As far as the switches go, I'm un familiar with the dome switches you mentioned, I'd have to look into them, however, they don't feel much different than those used in the actual MFDs(I fly 60s that use the same model MFD just a different faceplate). Sorry it took so long to respond, I rarely get on the forums and forgot to check. Edited July 13, 2024 by TrevorMcNeill 4
