Mike_CK Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Been flying the F-4 for awile and even though I have the gear and flaps down coming in to land, the AOA indicator lights don’t display. I can use the gauge but I’d rather just glance it the lights since that’s what it’s for. Is there a switch I have to click to turn them on or a dial or something. I looked in the manual and all it said was that the “right”(?) gear needed to be down.
Tzigy Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 It is really strange, I ve been flying a lot of landing practices, single missions, different maps and it always works TM Warthog MFG TIR5 GT Omega Pro/ButKickerx1/WheelStandPro Playseat/ButKickerx2

Possibly you were still in Shrike-Mode? A screenshot, video or track would help. The brightness knob is on the right wall.
Mike_CK Posted July 3, 2024 Author Posted July 3, 2024 Suspect brightness knob then. I haven’t seen them on any occasion so it wouldn’t be battle damage or sun (included night mission). I’ll check the knob. Didn’t know there was one so could be the issue.

The beeper gives you the same information without the need to look at an indicator. Once you figure it out, it is very useful. You won’t care about the lights.
Blackclaw Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 This same thing happens to me. As I land, I've never gotten any AoA indicator lights or sounds. I just take my best guess at AoA and watch my descent rate. I haven't learned to cold start yet, so I always hot start. I figured there was something I still need to turn on, but haven't figured out what.
