Multiplayer role selection

I don't get it, it now looks like you can't see the opposing slots when you select a slot, so you have to scroll through and find someone to play against and change coalitions?

I dont understand it either, also every time i choose an airframe I have to fly the whole mision with it, i can not change roles to a different plane/heli
