Air Intercept Controller (AIC) in CVW-17
The Air Intercept Controller within Virtual CVW-17 is pivotal for delivering dominant airborne command and control to CVW-17s assets. The AIC is involved in various all components of vCVW-17s OCA missions such as: Strike, Sweep, Air Interdiction, CAS, SEAD, DEAD. The AIC is also a vital part for DCA missions like fleet defence.

In vCVW-17 our members have years of experience in the real world and DCS on how to most effectively use Airborne Command and Control.
vCVW-17 is the best place to hone your AIC skills and develop yourself with a competent group of people.
We offer a quick syllabus to get into AICing with us if you have some experience.
vCVW-17 flies every week on Tuesday and Thursday 20:30 Central European time, our missions last up to 3 hours and include a detailed brief and debrief.
Key tasks of the AIC within vCVW-17 include:
- Basic Air intercept control; Controlling fighters in DCA and OCA environments.
- Providing C2 in all phases of the mission, getting fighters to where they need to be, providing SA as required.
- Run Surface Surveillance and Coordination Missions and control fighters in dynamic SCAR environments.
- Provide C2 for War at Sea Scenarios, identifying ships, controlling the airspace and targeting fighters.
