EliBombi.08 Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 Hey Guys, Im new to DCS. I Have bought two weeks ago in the Summersale some Modules including the F-18c Hornet. Havent found Time yet to fly this thing but now I want to learn it. Today I wanted to set up the Controlles on my Ps4 Controller (Hotas will come soon). But here is the Probleme: I want to bind the Rudder to L2 and R2. But that does not work because you can bind the Rudder only to one Axis (L2 or R2). Does anyone have an idea how I can use L2 for rudder right and R2 for rudder right. Sorry for my englesh Im from Germany
rob10 Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 I don't know that controller but are L2 and R2 actually axis controls or are they buttons? If they're buttons, you DON'T want to bind them as an axis but in the main bindings as Aircraft Rudder Left/Right.
EliBombi.08 Posted July 23, 2024 Author Posted July 23, 2024 boath L2 and r2 (button 11 and 12 on the linked photo) are axis. The probleme is you can only setup one axis for the rudder. But I want like I said L2 for rudder left and r2 for rudder right.
rob10 Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 So if they are axis controls there is no way to bind left rudder and right rudder separately. The rudder axis command needs a middle/centre/neutral point where there is no rudder input. If you had separate left and right what should it do if it was getting input from both axis? I guess if it was getting inputs from both it could just ignore both (I assume that's what it would do with conflicting button inputs). But virtually anyone that's looking to bind it to an axis is only ever going to want to assign it to an axis with a centre point so that's why there is only one available. Fortunately, for the Hornet you really only need the rudder for turning on the ground. I would bind two BUTTONS, one for Aircraft Rudder Left and one for Aircraft Rudder Right to turn with.
EliBombi.08 Posted July 24, 2024 Author Posted July 24, 2024 it worked with the buttons. Thank you Rob 10! 1
