Designate target waypoint and CCIP?

So I returned to DCS after a very long break and getting back into the F18, so I was just started with deploying weapons and started with normal Iron bombs to practice CCIP to begin with. 

However I noticed that every time I designated my waypoint as target (to make it easier to see in HUD etc where my target should be) I noticed that the delivery mode was forced to AUTO and even when I go in the stores page and select CCIP, it remains AUTO. 

Since it has been so long time since I have been around in the F18 I cannot remember if it used to be like this, or if it is maybe something new that got implement, so I thought I would ask here

It is supposed to be possible to do CCIP when pressing WPDSG to make the waypoint a target waypoint? Or is it limited to AUTO?

You need to undesignate the target to bomb in ccip. Once you get a good visual on your target using the diamond, hit nws button to undesignate, and you will get your ccip symbology in the hud.
