Mission 8 You got me good! (Spoiler)

Just finished mission 8 and was super confused reading the debrief which stated I only hit one of the two tanks when I saw both bombs impact the intended targets. Had me scratching my head for awhile until I reopened the debrief.

Then I saw it! The "east" in the description and that the last thermal picture has reversed orientation with N facing down! I saw a "west" tank because I assume that photo has the same orientation and although I did in fact read through the entire debrief, yeah my mind went with the picture, not the text. Reminds of the psych test that makes you read out load stuff like "RED GREEN" really fast.

 

Well my hats off to you sir! You got me and I'll have to be more careful reading the briefings. I'll have to fly it again tomorrow night.

 

Thanks for the campaign! I appreciate the effort it takes to collaborate with actual experienced pilots for a realistic experience.

I memorized that tanks I got to hit are the middle one and that closer to the building - as I can't be sure of my approach vector. Still, I hit both and game did not score it.

I was burned by these kinds of details on the previous mission .  I'd assumed that lead (#1) would hit Aimpoint 1, and #2 would hit Aimpoint #2.  Sure enough, I put my JDAM right onto Aimpoint #2, then POKER chewed me out for hitting the wrong aimpoint.  Taught me to read the briefing very carefully, not assume anything. Sure enough, I caught that reversal on the thermal image photo before the mission and was able to adjust my coordinates accordingly.  BD is certainly teaching me to read carefully!
