Building a simpit as we speak focusing on a few winwing controllers, an ICP, a couple of MFDs plus a touchscreen for other instrument display with touchscreen input. The combination of products is tying me in knots figuring out what software to use to drive which tech. I've got Winwing HOTAS controllers, a couple of MFDs plus an ICP (F16 focused) as a base. I want to add a single large-ish touchscreen monitor as a display for the rest of the cockpit including touchscreen interaction. It looks like I pretty much HAVE to use Helios to drive the touchscreen instruments? Helios plus profiles will display instruments and handle touchscreen input, right? If this is true, what's the impact of layering the Winwing stuff on top of this? DCS will need to interact with HOTAS as well as the MFD/ICP. Do I do this by running SimAppPro AND Helios? Can one of you map the right software with what it drives out of my device list above so I can focus in the right places? Can Helios drive it all including the winwing MFDs? I'm assuming not but then where does SimAppPro stop and Helios start? Help clear my fog a bit?
