[DCS issue] F-4 Jester wheel/menu partly not visible

Recommended Posts

part of the jester wheel/menu is missing. essentially, it looks like some fraction of right side of wheel is simply missing (am unable to attach screen grab).

this prevents me from accessing any options/commands from that part of the menu.  so...for example...i am unable to do a cold start as can't access air power.

has anyone else had this issue?  any solutions?  is Heatblur aware?  working on solution?

thanks!

Hello, this is a known DCS issue caused by an unfortunate combination of settings.

Go to your VR settings and check "Use System Resolution", "BOTH EYES", then select as resolution one that is not lower than 1920x1080 and restart DCS.

That should fix it. Otherwise you can mitigate by using the Special Options of the Phantom to either offset the UI or to reduce its size.

That does work but kinda a PITA to change everytime I want to fly the F4. Did ED indicate that there is a solution in the near future?

With the price of ammunition these days do not expect a warning shot.

ED already worked on a fix but it seems it only did do the trick for some users. Guess they have to get back to it.

lemme go poke them in the VR forum 🤣

Its also not just our content. Their own VOIP window is affected in the same way. When you press ESC you can see a black-ish rectangle indicating the "zone" these windows can be rendered in. And that zone is directly affected by those VR/graphic settings, being very small if the wrong choice is made. Its essentially how the game renders "screen content" in VR, on some form of virtual monitor placed around the HUD area. Also the reason why we cant render these windows on your view, but only static on the HUD area in VR - as opposed to 2D, where the window can be rendered so it moves with your head.
