Greetings everyone!

I'm very new to BS, and consider me to be the rookiest of all rookies... The last Heli sim I played was Gunship 2000 on the Amiga 500 - so you can imagine how little I know about flying a helicopter  - err.. yes, trimming thats the answer... etc.

The reason for this thread is that after I end a mission (every mission - single player) the game always crashes - I can end the process and the GUI loads again - but I was wondering if there is a fix for this problem anyone knows about?

I'm running a:

Intel E5200

2gb RAM

ATI HD 4850

currently on windows 7, but I have this exact same problem with XP - I read somewhere that the game crashes after missions with ATI cards? Though they were refering to this only being a problem in Vista.

Thanks for your time.

Check if you have any error logs in your Blackshark temp folder - adress is something like C:\Games\BlackShark\Temp\ or similar depending on where you installed it. The files should be named something like error.log and/or errors.log

I have indeed got about 10 crash files, here is the most recent:

It relates to newview, A program I use for IL2... I have renamed the newview folder and the problem goes away - unfortunately that means that everytime I want to fly IL2 I have to remember to change the folder name back again :( and the same for BS.

Thanks for your suggestion, you nailed the problem right on the head.

Hello Five-O ;)

Looks like you have the "Newview" device. I've seen incompability reports about that one - I think in the Readme.txt or somewhere.

I'll check and report right back.

EDIT: Hm it wasnt quite the correct problem related to Newview: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=568718&postcount=12

Still, maybe try to get rid of it?

Also, I'm investigating a similar problem myself - maybe you can have a look at the thread to see if you find any similarities between your setup and my setup? It's not MP related at all - I've been able to get it in singleplayer as well.

So far we've been able to avoid crash (fly for short periods only, less stuff loaded) - or introduce carsh after flight (requires longer flights, and more objects loaded).

Thanks Panzertard. At least for me the crash seems to be related only to newview, and renaming the folder appears to have fixed the problem entirely - that said I would like to find a more elegant way to fix the problem than disabling the view control for IL2...

I actually found your thread when I was searching the forum before starting this one, unfortunately I cant think of a way to help you out - We are both using Windows 7 64 bit, and a saitek X52.

The only thing with my installation of win7 is that I have enabled the 'super admin' account, as I was having problems with several programs which worked properly immediately afterwards:

I hope you get your problems sorted out soon, I'm loving BS - though I am still pretty awful at, it most of my flights go something like this:

 :joystick::pilotfly::joystick::doh::book:.... if that makes any sense.
