Panny Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Hello, I recently upgraded my monitor from the Gigabyte M27Q X to the MSI MPG 271QRX monitor. Of course due to overall bandwidth that the 4090 can give(I still have my Gigabyte M27Q as a secondary monitor set to 120Hz), for most use the MSI monitor is set to 120Hz so the Pimax headset can be recognised. But it seems now whenever I boot the Pimax Play tool the mouse becomes invisible on the right hand side of the MSI monitor. The only way to resolve this is by closing the Pimax tool and then resetting the refresh rate of the monitor via Windows(I don't get the option to change the refresh rate on the monitor when the Pimax tool is running for some reason). This is pretty inconvenient, and would really hope we can find a solution on that. Calvin.Pimax Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Unfortunately, due to bandwidth limitations, adjusting the monitor's refresh rate is the only solution. You could also try connecting the monitors using both DP and HDMI.

My previous two monitors were the Gigabyte M27Q and a BenQ 144Hz monitor, both being 1440p. Currently all monitors use DP cables. In theory this would be even lower with bandwidth. I can try, but if I set both monitors to 60Hz(definitely lower in bandwidth) I'll see if the mouse still disappears on the right side of the monitor. But is the mouse disappearing known to be tied to bandwidth directly? The GPU may not have sufficient capacity to support three simultaneous displays with high refresh rates and resolutions, which includes the VR headset.
Panny Posted November 27, 2024 Author Posted November 27, 2024 Well now I'm completely confused then. I lowered both monitors' refresh rate down to 60Hz each and still had the mouse issue. This is objectively lower in demands than my previous set up? Have you tried to disable you internal graphics card in BIOS? This is an issue with Intel CPU but not sure about AMDs. Panny Posted November 29, 2024 Author Posted November 29, 2024 I did some further testing. I unplugged my Gigabyte monitor. Booting up Pimax Play I get the same mouse problem. Plugging it back in I get no signal from the Gigabyte monitor and it doesn't come back. Next test I unplugged my MSI monitor, and then booted Pimax Play. This time the mouse cursor remains. This feels odd when both monitors are artifically capped at 120Hz with the same resolution.
