EightyDuce Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Sadly seemed mostly some damage control with vague reading of the of FAQ, didnt really cover any of the issues or what changes were made to address them. Looks like there is no always-on connection required, at least if the device is paid off. However, there must be some kind of check as per the FAQ there are only 2 transfers of ownership allowed before another round of "membership" fee is required....seems a bit slimy to double-dip on a device which has already been bought and paid for. Looks like they're trying to get a piece of the secondary market sales. Also I still don't understand why they eliminated a straight up buy of the headset with or without controllers and instead funnel everyone into the PimaxPrime "membership". The only thing I can think of is they're trying to pump up the user numbers for Pimax Prime...maybe to attract more VC $$. Looks like it's a follow-up to: 1 Windows 11 23H2| ASUS X670E-F STRIX | AMD 9800X3D@ 5.6Ghz | G.Skill 64Gb DDR5 6200 28-36-36-38 | RTX 4090 undervolted | MSI MPG A1000G PSU | VKB MCG Ultimate + VKB T-Rudders + WH Throttle | HP Reverb G2 Quest 3 + VD
scommander2 Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 So, is it worthy to get Pimax products while they are still improving their customer service experience and the overall quality of headsets? Thanks. That's very much a personal choice depending on your risk tolerance and how much money you have burning a hole in your pocket. 2 Windows 11 23H2| ASUS X670E-F STRIX | AMD 9800X3D@ 5.6Ghz | G.Skill 64Gb DDR5 6200 28-36-36-38 | RTX 4090 undervolted | MSI MPG A1000G PSU | VKB MCG Ultimate + VKB T-Rudders + WH Throttle | HP Reverb G2 Quest 3 + VD

Thanks. I think generally speaking, those who have the CL and have it working as advertised are quite happy with it. Some (like me) went through some teething issues, but are happy now. Those that have had ongoing quality issues trying to sort things out that will have the negative feedback (and rightly so) - so it really is a YMMV. I'd be looking into what return options you have available. Looking at that video, it seems as though Pimax are having a 'trial period' of their headsets. If this is true, and they offer a full refund, you could purchase the headset. If you get one with Quality issues, you could possibly return it and get your money back. That's something you'd need to clarify first to make sure that is the case, but if it is - then there may be reduced risk. Also - there's 2 things that Pimax did right IMO that I really appreciate. Both the lenses, and the cable are replaceable. (The 2 items at most risk of damage that will make the headset unusable IMO), which means better future roofing than some other's out there. 3

And it really is true, once you go VR it’s extremely difficult to go back to playing on a flat screen only. 1 My first assigned aircraft is in my profile name Ryzen 9800x3d/64gb DDR5 amd expo/RTX 5090/4tb m2/ Win11 pro/Pimax crystal light Winwing Orion F16ex (Shaker kit)/Skywalker pedals/Orion 2 F15EX II Throttle/3 MFD units/Virpil CM3 Mongoose Throttle/Trackir 5 F-16/A10II A/C /F-18/F-15E/F-15C/F-14/F5E II/F-4/Ah64/UH60/P51-D/Super Carrier/Syria/Sinai/Iraq/Persian Gulf/Afghanistan/Nevada/Normandy 2.0

If the device is malfunction and passes one-year warranty even though the 24-month membership fee is still going, how does Pimax handle the broken device? A replacement possible? If the device is still under warranty and Pimax will have the replacement for it. The replacement is the refurbished item? Calvin.Pimax Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I would say both are good for DCS. This will depend on the after-sales team, so I can’t make any promises. I will make sure they add this information to the FAQ page. 1
