Reverb g2 wmr issue

I've been on dcs exclusively vr for around 6 years and I started with the vive and upgraded to the g2 when it released, since then I've always had an issue of losing my mouse control any time I touch my headset or readjust it seems. For some reason this turns the running dcs into a mode where wmr takes over and says you have to windows+y to can't control back. However this doesn't work

My only work around is to ctrl+alt+del open task manager and then windows+y to get my cursor back and then click back over to my dcs window to have everything normal again, does anyone know why this is?

 

Side note: the vive was so perfect and seamless, it was wonderful, the g2 just got me on the resolution. I'm considering upgrading to the pimax soon

As I recall, this happens when the mouse moves out of the game, make sure you have the “keep mouse confined to game window” checked which I believe is in the VR settings. This should resolve your issue.

Ive tried both and end up with the same results, not sure if this helps but when opening dcs-"startup/load" this happens as well, so technically the cursor is in the game window 

 

*also if the cursor is out of the window there is a notice at the top of the screen, which this can happen either way

I dont have the Windows Y . I unchecked that...I CTRL tab to grab the Mouse cursor

I had a similar issue in the past. Other things you can try:

1. In WMR settings, there are two settings for “input switching”, manual and automatic, try switching them;

2. Unless you use it, make sure the G2 microphone is switched off in WMR. The speech recognition software can cause some weird results in DCS; and

3. When you start DCS, make sure the mouse cursor is in the middle of your screen.

It's not so much the key combinations, it's the fact that it kicks dcs off into like a secondary window that I can't control and makes wmr the primary and the only way to get out of it is to use whatever key combo is needed to regain cursor control and select the dcs window as priority

I'll try this, thank you 

On a related note is there any alternative software to wmr that I can use for the G2? Like my vive used steam vr and although it had its own hickups it was better than windows mixed reality in every way.

I'm wondering if there's something I can use instead of wmr, I'd love to just delete that program from windows lol

No there isn't and that would make a lot of G2 owners happy since its being deprecated. Make sure your on Win10 or not upgrading your Win11 to 24H2 otherwise WMR is going to stop working. Then you'll need that Pimax
