rocket302 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 this is unbelievable that people have been asking for this since June and still you guys are not fixing this issue. still no fix in DCS 2.9.10.3948 This is total BS and before you cry babies get on here and make excuses for them not fixing this...i am a software engineer so i know what i'm talking about. it should not take this long to fix this issue. period! its very apparent they don't care about it and instead want to just push out stuff to try and incite people to buy more half/ass modules with their own bugs. Hey here is a novel idea, fix what you have so people like me can continue to play. If we can't play what we have we sure is hell not going to put more money into this. Dont think it matters, listen to your customers this is just from the first search page of the forum... there are many redit post and more.
Qcumber Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Hands are tracking ok for me. The main issue I have (and have always had so nothing new) is that interacting with switches a dials takes very specific hand positions so it can be fiddly. This could definitely be improved. What headset are you using? 9800x3d; rtx5080 FE; 64Gb RAM 6000MHz; 2Tb NVME; Quest Pro (previous rift s and Pico 4).
Pinto93 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 (edited) Same issue as above for me after today's update to 2.9.10.3948. No fixes posted by many others have worked for me outside of reverting back to 2.9.7 ST version. Using a new Win 11 machine with 14th gen i9 and 4070 Ti Super. Plenty of 2 TB memory open and running 64 GB RAM. Last week, I reverted all the way back to 2.9.7.59263 and ran the ST version, VR hands worked great there with HTC Vive controllers and a HTC Cosmos Elite Headset. No F10 basemap was the only major issue I found while flying 1V1 Air to Air solo and in a MP server with my son who also reverted to save version so we could play together. He has now been running into crashing when selecting cluster bombs and getting Mavericks to detonate on impact while trying to run a custom mission so that version likely has other Air to Ground bugs still in it too. Attaching my log file from the latest version. Will be reverting back again to that old ST version using the following procedure as this seems like an issue within the MT versions (2.9.7.59263 MT had the same missing hands issue). Please get this fixed, no fun having to revert so far back just to play in VR!! How to downgrade DCS: open terminal and run cd "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin" then run ./DCS_updater.exe update {version}@release replace {version} with version number. ex: 2.9.7.59263 Once this completes, go into C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin and open the .exe file to launch the game. It will not run updater, this is a single threaded, pre- new launcher version of the game. It runs my VR controllers but is missing a basemap on its F10 map and may also have issues with Air to ground weapons in at least custom missions such as Mavericks not detonating on impact and game crashes when cluster bombs are selected. You will also have a Bin-MT folder, those are multi-threaded preview versions and they have the same missing VR controllers/in game hands/controls issue as the latest version (MT built in) still has. dcs.log Edited December 6, 2024 by Pinto93
rocket302 Posted December 12, 2024 Author Posted December 12, 2024 well DCS 2.9.10.4160 - 11.12.2024 is getting closer but still does not work like it use to. works - controller do not disappear when entering VR setting. Does not work - Vr hands will not show - when you turn on hands, you lose mouse control a least i did - controller does not have touch function closer, but still a ways to go guys
The_Cokester Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I found in my pimax crystal that if the controllers aren’t in view of the tracking cameras when starting up DCS they won’t show.
Pinto93 Posted December 16, 2024 Posted December 16, 2024 HTC Vive controllers still not showing up at all for me in this new update from December 11 ehter. Tried the "disable controllers in VR menu, leave the game, come back in, enable controllers...repeat" work around and was not able to get my VR Hands to show at all in the main menu screen. Will reset everything again and if still not working, revert back to that old 2.9.7.x version I mentioned earlier just to be able to play, since all my key bindings are dependent on modifiers on a VR controller.
