Couldn't be more opposite to MRTV's one.

And more relevant coming from a fellow DCS sim user.

I disagree. The quality of the headset is not suddenly going to change depending on the game. If you look at the channel, then this person has only ever used Pimax. They also produce very little content. So they seem to lack broader knowledge. We also know that MRTV and a few other channels have experience with preproduction models, so they know roughly how long it takes to fix pre-production issues. Based on that, they can make a decent guess whether those issues will be fixed in time for release and Pimax has a reputation of not achieving this.

In the video, this reviewer spends a lot of time glossing over issues. When he notes that eye tracking was disabled because it doesn't work well, he just takes Pimax' word for it, that they will make it work as well as in the Crystal. That is not being a critical reviewer, especially since the headset is supposed to ship in January and eye tracking is one of the main features! So the headset should have been done other than very tiny issues.

The reviewer also goes on to explain that normal consumers don't notice the graphical issues that he notices, so he should just ignore the visual issues in the headset during the review. That is a pretty arrogant way to look at one's audience, where the reviewer apparently thinks that none of his viewers can notice these things. In contrast, MRTV explains what parts of the headset are better, worse or equal than other popular headsets, so viewers who have used one of those other headsets, then have a frame of reference. People have different preferences and different bodies, so this helps people determine whether the strengths and weaknesses of the headset work for them.

You missed my point, I prefer to get a review from a DCS simmer rather than a general VR user.  You can like or dislike the review but coming from someone that actually flies in DCS, it is more relevant to me.

MRTV is sometimes useful but never as much as review from a community member.

I was rather interested in his detailed description of dialling in the physical fit, which seemed to eradicate most of the issues MRTV described (who didn't mention any of that). Could it have been that simple?

Also saw this preview. Love to see more such preview or reviews with DCS before shipment of mine. Not necessary rely on or hate a specific view sharing. Actually this guy said he owns 4 or 5 popular headset in Discord forum. And he spent much more time to try it even dial some setting to ensure it’s correctly set for DCS.

He did address MRTV’s negative impression to pre-production units. Acknowledging distortion indeed which to be optimized with profile so it’s SW issue. Mura is there indeed which is HW with panel and could be mitigated significantly by setting brightness down to 97% and binocular overlap 85%+ … he didn’t mention warping … Will look for other’s comment with actual experience.

Looks quite optimistic for now. Will keep my money till those confirmed by more reviewers upon formal shipping.

Isn’t it good for our simmers to have one more option with high end headset which is much anticipated? Hope Pimax can make it right with Super regardless its deep learning curve.

Regarding the panel, you may refer to this update.

Disappointed for delay again while agreeing this is right thing to do. Public beta shall be properly done prior to any new product release and production shipment. Still looking for Pimax solved all those issues and ship out headsets in decent quality and customer experience. Or massive return would be the worst case. Still keep positive and keep the pre-order. Anyway 5090/5080 is not likely available in 2 month for sufficient supply.

Yes, I understand that delays can be disappointing, but we don’t want to send out the headset without addressing the issues that might affect its performance.

The feedback from our beta testers will definitely help us resolve these issues and ensure the performance quality.

This will help us avoid the mistakes we’ve made in the past years.
