smoking_ace420 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 (edited) Will ED ever install these scripts for us in the triggers so we don't have to learn how to code and do it ourselves? I haven't heard of them wanting to model an integrated air defense system like in Falcon BMS, so the next best thing would be having these triggers already installed by default in the maps. I've only managed to do the basic IADS myself mostly just copying and pasting from the work of others, but A2A dispatch is difficult and I have no idea how to create the triggers for it. A more advanced IADS that models the destruction of command centers, communications nodes and the detection of incoming bandits from ship based radars and other sources would be ideal. Kvek Posted February 12 Posted February 12 This is needed asap. The only way to make a SEAD mission is with skynet. In the last years, ED has incorporared 2 new functionality to SAM systems; 1. Fire Range reduction: but is useless because if you leave that reduced range after a missile launch, the lock is dropped and the missile explode. 2. HARM "evasion": it has multiple problems. Some systems never turn on again after a harm detection, others with the capability to defend from harms, "shut down" but keep transmitting, so the harm hit them anyway, etc etc. ED, please launch a module for SAM/IADS or something related. That is the only way you will be putting some effort and not leave it in the past, bugged and with limited functionality. Remember that as a figther/bomber/plane, you can engage against air threats and surface to air defenses. So, you are leaving "half" of the possible threats unusable. 1

Yes, and guesstimating when to start the mission of intercept aircraft including how long it takes for the pilots to be alerted and get ready to run to their aircraft also reduces the realism. I use 5 mintues because that's what ChatGenie told me. Edited February 15 by smoking_ace420
SOLIDKREATE Posted April 19 Posted April 19 For a scramble I use 5min as well with 1min intervals between three 2-ship flights. I normally only take them out 30nm and Search and Engage w/orbit zone of 60000ft. I use almost all of the add-on scripts like "RADRA using, ECM using (if that bird has it) ect... AVIONICS: ASUS BTF TUF MB, INTEL i9 RAPTORLAKE 24 CORE, 48GB PATRIOT VIPER TUF, 16GB ASUS RTX 4070ti SUPER, ASUS TUF 1000w PSU CONTROL: LOGI X-56 RHINO HOTAS, LOGI PRO RUDDER PEDALS, LOGI G733 LIGHTSPEED MAIN BIRDS: F/A-18C, AJS37, MB339A, MIRAGE F1, Su-25A

That is for an "Alert 5" aircraft with pilot sitting in the cockpit, in case of a carrier, right on the cat. If the pilot has to run to the aircraft and start it up cold, it's longer. 1
