Mcgruder Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 I know this sound really nobby, but I am having problems with installing backshark. I have down loaded both parts have put them into the same folder, activated the setup.exe, it gets halfway on the install but then I get error message 2. I belive that error message 2 means that I have only download one part only/or dont have it all in the same file. But I have, I think. Is it right that the second download comes as 1406 septerate files ?, as that what i have got. I lumped Setup exe in with them and let it run but no joy. I am using Vista Ultimate. AMD 2 x 4800 CPU ATI HD4670 4 GB Ram Anyone know what I am doing wrong, Is there some kind of idiot guide I can follow for Idiots like me ?
EtherealN Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 (edited) Is it right that the second download comes as 1406 septerate files ?, as that what i have got. If you have many files that sounds like you have extracted the data1.cab (possibly through using the download-and-run instead of a simple right-click and save-as). I have verified that my data1.cab has 1406 files within it, which reinforces this hypothesis. In short, the procedure should be as follows: 1- download setup.exe (right-click, save as) 2- download data1.cab (same) 3- ensure they are both in the same folder 4- double-click setup.exe Setup.exe will then look for data1.cab, and if you have already extracted that one it won't find it and cause an error2. EDIT: Also note that if you download and already have a data1.cab in the download folder, windows will rename the new one to something similar to "data1 (1).cab" - this will cause the same error.
