linklemming Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) I have had my PCL for a a few weeks now. Two annoying issues I seem to be having are: 1.) Headtracking - it can be fine for an hour and sometimes it jumps all over the place. I have a ceiling light a few feet behind me and a 65 inch tv 6ft away and 6ft to the right that I use as a monitor. When the headtracking gets bad, its almost unplayable and many times I have to stop. Is there anything I can do to improve the headtracking like wall posters? While I am not a fan of base stations, I would consider them. 2.) Boundary issues - I have the headset setup for sitting down use. Its seems like randomly the light green boundary shows up and sticks around. I havnt been able to figure out anything repeatable just like the headtracking issue (they might be related). While its not a showstopper its super annoying. Sometimes recentering thru the pi button on the controller make it go away but not always. Should I use room boundary instead? I do have a dedicated sim cockpit setup (next level racing racing military edition) I have had no such issues with a Rift S, two Reverb G2s or a Quest 3, headtracking on these is always super smooth Edited January 27 by linklemming
Timpa351 Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Hey, I had similar issues with the tracking. The image kept moving toward me even though I wasn’t moving my head, and the room setup was correct. I realized that, in my case, the regular Crystal needs more light, so I installed an Elgato Key Light. Since then, I’ve had no more problems with head tracking, and the Crystal works very well and stable.
Calvin.Pimax Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) You could try downloading these QR codes, printing them out, and pasting them on the wall. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/17bcsyzFKooC4U_o4uu7oPRUHVMsEdo5S?usp=drive_link Also, please ensure the room is well-lit. Regarding the boundary issue, go to Pimax Play > Device Settings > Advanced and ensure the "Activate Chaperone" option is disabled. Edited January 27 by Calvin.Pimax
linklemming Posted February 12 Author Posted February 12 Thanks all for the info. That Chaperone sure was annoying. I tried several lights I had lying around as well as the QR codes mentioned but non were perfect. The Elgato Key light was the ticket. A little more $$ than I would have liked but it solved the headtracking problem.
