asa1997 Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 in sim mode, i try to get within atgm launch range. i establish a hover, and adjust my altitude. my weapons and lasers and hms mode are on, and i've locked the target. i see the launch circle is within the shkval circle and hms circle. i hold the fire button for a couple seconds, but nothing happens. i then move up and switch to cannon, and i destroy the target. what is happening? please help
bumfire Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 (edited) Have you selected weapon stations ? i.e rockets or missiles ? have you flipped the Arm switch ? have you locked the target and are within 7KM, as if you are not roughly within 7KM the computer wont let you launch unless you flip the switch to manual, also is your laser armed and have you locked the target so that you are within Launch parameters ? Also, once you select weapons stations, i.e missiles or rockets, if you select missiles then a circle will appear on your hud, you have to bring that circle inline with the little target circle, so once the little circle is within the middle of the larger circle and you are within launch parameters then hold the fire button. Also, the cannon button IS NOT THE SAME as the launch Missile button, so if you have just got this game and if you are using a joystick, then your joystick fire button WILL NOT FIRE MISSILES OR ROCKETS, it will only fire cannon rounds. You will have to set it up so that you use another joystick button to fire missiles and rockets or if you mess about and tweak some of the game files, you can have a single trigger that will fire both Missiles and Rockets and also the Cannon, thats what I have done. To set the Trigger on your joystick to fire both cannon and missiles and rockets then do this; Open the following file: C:\WINDOWS\ProgramFiles (x86 if using vista 64 )\EagleDynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Devices_specs\WeaponSystem.lua The part in bold can be where you installed the game to, also if your using vista64 then the game will be installed into programfilesx86 Find the line, "use_single_trigger" and set it to "true". The 'Fire Gun' command ([sPACE] by default) will now also act as the 'Release Weapon' command ([LALT+SPACE] by default) That should be you good to fire all weapons from your joystick fire button instead of having to use 2 different buttons to fire the different weapons like the real helicopter has. Why an option for that isnt included in the ingame setup pages is crazy, that is an important feature if you ask me, as everyone just wants to use a single trigger, if not everyone I would take a guess and say the majority of people do. bumfire Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Yea, or you can tweak the file I edited onto the end of my post so that you only have to use 1 button on your joystick to fire ANY weapon, much easier that way, whatever weapon you are currently using is the weapon that will be fired. Single trigger is the way to go I think, their is no clashes, all you do is change an option from false to true and save the file and thats it, then your fire button fires everything from cannon to missiles and bombs :D

Yskonyn Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Great you got it sorted, asa1997! Though, it would be nice not to establish a problem you have as a bug right away. You probably see now why. A bit of research would have fixed it and besides you could have just asked first without giving it the label as it being a bug. This is why devs get sh*tloads of so-called bug reports. Us humans usually label stuff we don't understand as 'wrong'.
