Hi everyone,

I play DCS, Flight Simulator and Elite dangerous.  I have x-56 hotas, rudder pedals, a single 4k 27" monitor and trackir.  Given this current hardware and the games I play, what would you recommend as the "next step" as I flush out my virtual cockpit?  I'm not sold on VR, so I'd like to forego that, but multiple monitors?  MFDs?  Something else?  Just curious what elements of your setups you found head a good return on investment for performance/immersion.

Thanks!

You should aim for a 9800X3D processor, min. 64 GB of fast and low latency RAM and a proper GPU. If you stick at the 4k monitor an AMD RX 7900 XTX card is definitely worth to think about, as it is much bang for the bucks. If you aim for VR you should consider to buy a NVidia card, a similar one to the AMD is the RTX 4080 Super.

This is how I would actually upgrade my PC. I don´t know about your budget or what your actual rig looks like.

Take care,

Xoxen

I would suggest a Stream Deck XL. There is all kinds of support out there to show data from the sims on the buttons and toggle to different button images, so it is not just a button box, but a dynamic system that shows data and that can show multiple displays on just one device. You can search on this forum for Stream Deck support for DCS.

For MSFS, using Axis and Ochs with the Guenseli profiles from flightsim.to works very well.

For Elite Dangerous, this seems good: https://github.com/mhwlng/streamdeck-elite

And the X56 joystick is considered to be quite poor, so you can think about replacing it with a VKB Gladiator Space Edition.
